Did you ever wonder how life was in Romania under the communist regime? How Romanians lived on their monthly food ratios, how Romanian women coped with the communist reproductive policy and most of all how was living under a dictatorial regime? The Ceausescu era was promoted by the propaganda machine of that times as being “the golden age”... of Romania but unfortunately was the darkest time that Romanians ever lived. Humor was vastly used as a coping mechanism by people reaching their limits and who felt powerless in front of the communist regime. Comic, bizarre, surprising myths and jokes abounded, often based on the events of everyday life under the communist regime. Twenty years after the fall of the totalitarian regime, TALES FROM THE GOLDEN AGE, portrays with a big dose of humor some of the most important urban myths which circulated during the communist regime. Structured into two parts, the films are a collection of seven short stories presented now in cinemas across Romania. For more ino please go to the film's page:
